Removing God from the Dollar.- Antitheist

Removing God from the Dollar.

E pluribus unum
Out of many, one.

Adopted by the Founding Fathers in 1782 as part of the Great Seal of the United States, to represent the federal nature of the nation, out of many states, one country.

For many it has a secondary meaning referring to the diverse cultural nature of America today. I witnessed this while visiting Washington DC, where party lines divide, instead I saw people of all races, ages, religion going about their business as one, as Americans.

Obama came under attack by the religious right, Michelle Bachmann and co last year for referring to the motto. Who would ever have guessed the national Motto would be seen as un-patriotic by those usually staunch nationalists. I guess god trumps nationalism. .

In God we trust was adopted as the official motto of the United States in 1956 as an alternative or replacement to the unofficial motto of E pluribus unum and first appeared on notes in 1957.

Religion and nationalism is the deadliest coupling ever, both requiring exclusivity and making perfect bed partners.
